Stephanie Diftler is a psychotherapist who
trained at The University of Chicago and is licensed in social work through the state of
Illinois. Her second master's degree
in preventive medicine uniquely positions her to understand the deep and
subtle connection between mind and body. This knowledge is
particularly valuable in helping people adjust mentally and physically
to their conditions and to regain a sense of control over their bodies
and their lives. Stephanie incorporates a variety of techniques in
her therapy including relaxation and visualization, diet and exercise
and cognitive changes and hypnosis.
With 20 years in private practice, she
specializes in stress related problems, anxiety and phobias, depression,
marriage and relationship counseling, and eating disorders. Her specialized training in sports medicine/preventive
medicine makes her unusually skilled dealing with eating disorders, such as
anorexia, bulimia, over eating, and weight management. She works with
adults and adolescents as well as their family members and spouses.
